Hello. The first layout looks really dull here but looks much better in photoshop and in high res. I changed my font to ITC Serif Gothic, which is a much more appropriate font for old chemistry books. I also got rid of the spiral, as you can see. I've added few other details too.

I am definitely glad to see the spiral bound notebook go. It gives them a more serious look.

Hooray for getting rid of the spiral bound look. Boo for letting the word Organic bump into the outline on the cover.

I'm no chemistry buff, but what's F in the GAS?

These look really good....I might make the body copy on the back smaller....and I wouldn't put it at an angle on the Physical Chemistry jacket.

I agree, they look much better without being spiralbound! I can't decide if I like the usage of the barcode. I might try and switch it out with some sort of iconic graphic.

they look so much better without the spiral! i would not make the barcode and the text on the back slanted. i assume you did this to give the effect of the explosion mixing up the words. you dont need to go any further on that. we get it. other than that they look great!

The overall imagery is working well, but I'm still not sold on the typeface choice. The ITC Gothic, particularly the lower case, feels overly playful and a little dated.

Also, the back covers would benefit from having more text, as well as reducing the text size and leading.
